This can be a space where we can think about your goals, what it is you want to achieve, work through or work towards. One of the most valuable aspects of one to one therapy is that you are free to use the time to work through and process whatever you need to in a supportive, non judgemental environment. Let’s talk about what you need with a free 15 minute consultation.

There are also various aspects that influence how we cope in relationships and even how we approach them in the first place. The way we understand life and relate to others in heavily informed by our relationships during our formative years. Couples therapy starts with an exploration of your goals, time to reflect on if your goals align with your partner’s and if so, help you both to work towards the fulfilling relationship I am sure you are bother yearning for. If your goals differ, we can explore what this may mean for your relationship. In order to ensure that couples therapy is for you, it is important to have a thorough assessment. We can discuss this further if you decide to come of a consultation.

Supervision is a key aspect of therapeutic practice, amongst other things it can help you to process issues with clients, reveal blind spots, give you space to reflect on your reactions to clients and provide a safe space for you develop your own style. I can offer integrative and modality specific supervision, my special interests are existential phenomenological,  CBT,  person centred and psychodynamic approaches.

I have experience of supervising students on doctoral programmes and PG Dip CBT courses. This is with regards to therapeutic work, assignments and research (specifically IPA). My experience as a second marker at a university further supports my ability to work with students. My experience means that clients we discuss will count towards your clinical hours.

My therapeutic experience involves working with complex presentations, including complex trauma such as adult survivors of childhood trauma and grooming (including those going through the court process), other sexual trauma and survivors from war zones. In such cases it is especially important to have a supervisor who can spot signs of vicarious trauma and help you to identify when you need to take a break from or reduce this kind of work for a period.

I am aware of issues around culture and the way this might impact the therapeutic work. This includes thinking about how our own assumptions and those of our clients can help and hinder therapy.

Regarding training,  I have been working within the therapeutic field since 2005 and also completed a supervisor course at the Institute of Psychiatry. I can provide clinical supervision for psychologists, cognitive behavioural psychotherapists and other therapists including those who are on doctoral training programmes.

I offer supervision to individuals and groups and offer a discount to counselling psychology doctoral students. I can also provide mentorship for those considering a career change.

Feel free to contact me to discuss whether I may be able to support you on your journey as a therapist.
